Whitney and Dave – Engaged

Whitney and Dave are planning their Indiana wedding out of state so Thanksgiving was a perfect time to shoot their engagement session as they visited family here. We shot their session at the Kokomo Reservoir and even though autumn was coming to a close the reservoir was perfectly gorgeous and the soft cloudy skies added the most perfect light to their romantic session. These two are so incredible to work with and we’re really looking forward to their wedding this summer!

Hayley and Josh – Engaged

Hayley and Josh met us on a gorgeous fall day for their engagement session at the Tippecanoe River State Park in Winamac. We had never been there before and were so happy with the fall colors and gorgeous light. Such a pretty place was awesome for shooting this stylish pair and their adorable puppy and we love love loved this session. July can’t come soon enough for their wedding!

Mounds State Park Wedding – Rachel and Alex

When you have two biologists and the most perfect fall day to shoot you know it’s going to be a good one. The weeks leading up to Rachel and Alex’s wedding we were sure it would be a mostly indoor affair, after all the weekend before Halloween is typically pretty chilly and usually rains so when we woke up to perfect skies and balmy temps we were so excited. We arrived at Mounds as their families were adding the finishing touches to the flowers that Rachel’s mom grew just for her and origami that Rachel folded herself. After Rachel and Alex shared their first look we did portraits around the shelter while the trails were packed with people out enjoying the gorgeous weather. The guests began to arrive for the ceremony and the canopy of fall leaves couldn’t have been more perfect to exchange vows under. After their first kiss the two greeted their guests in a receiving line as they made their way to enjoy cocktails and frisbee games before the reception began. After heartfelt speeches by their nearest and dearest the pair shared their first dance before opening the dance floor. Because this was the week before Halloween costumes were a given. The theme of the wedding was migration and the costumes were all clever migratory animal costumes, some of which had us cracking up. It’s not every wedding you have a groom dressed as a hammer head shark or a bride as a pelican! We wrapped up as the dance floor got crazier and the sky turned inky black. This wedding was so sweet, personal, and homey; the perfect way to end the wedding season.
