It’s said that rain is good luck on your wedding day and if that’s the case Kristen and Jacob’s marriage will be the luckiest of them all. On our way to Milestone Event Center in Peru, IN where their wedding was taking place the clouds were looking scary and as soon as we pulled up the downpour started. Everyone was rushing to get the ballroom where the reception was to take place transformed to accommodate the now indoor wedding while the chairs meant for the guests outside were soaked. Most people might be stressed and worried if this was their wedding but Kristen and Jacob knew that as long as they were married by the end of the day it was a success and they were all smiles and laughter. Soon after the two exchanged letters and gifts without seeing each other Kristen was walking with her dad towards Jacob and they both laughed so much during their ceremony, you could feel the buzz of their excitement. After the ceremony we were blessed with 20 minutes or so of no rain so we rushed outside for portraits before it started pouring again. After a great reception with heartfelt toasts, delicious cake from Dreams to Reality, and lots of dancing we headed outside for one final round of portraits. The rain quieted to a light sprinkle and Kristen and Jacob ended their wedding day dancing in wet grass and laughing under dark skies, the perfect way to end a happy, damp day.
