October weddings are always one of two things, beautiful sunshine with the golden leaves in the air or freezing and rain with clouds as far as the eye can see. Kristina and Kyler’s wedding was the latter. They held their wedding at a family member’s barn in the middle of nowhere Indiana. The day started with everyone getting ready in the main house while the wind was blowing outside. The girls did each other’s makeup and enjoyed a little peace with each other before the day and the guys touched the bison head for good luck and found scooters to ride around. After the dress was on and the boutonnieres pinned Kristina and Kyler read letters to each other and prayed before their ceremony, a lovely way to spend a little time together before the vows. Their ceremony was held inside the barn strung with hundreds of twinkle lights, pumpkins and rustic decor, and everyone packed in together to keep warm. After their ceremony we headed outside for a fast round of portraits which led to red cheeks and wind swept hair. Their reception was in the same barn with the ceremony chairs moved to make room for a dance floor that stayed packed all afternoon. After cutting their amazing cake, crazy dancing, and tossing the bouquet we headed out for a few more minutes of portraits before they headed out the barn doors together with everyone cheering and waving ribbons in the air. Sometimes you get perfect weather for weddings and a lot of the time you get the worst. All that matters in the end is that you have each other to hold on to and keep warm and Kristina and Kyler’s wedding was a perfect reflection of that.
